About the archive

The archive contains travel notes, interviews with eyewitnesses, reflections on events, scientific reports and publications about life in Ukraine during the war. The main point is to understand war through the fates of those who survived it.

The first time I came to the Donbas was in 2015, where I met participants of tragic events and volunteers who are continuing their work. Therefore, the archive is called “Ukraine after 2014”, although a significant part of the material is dedicated to the outbreak of war in the east of Ukraine in 2014. The archive will also include texts of those whom I have met with or worked together to collect material.

Work had started in 2015 under the research program in the Religious Studies Department of the G.S. Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy, NAS of Ukraine. The study continued in 2016 with the support of the All-Ukrainian Missionary Society “Spiritual Revival”. Since 2017 it has been included in the Re-Vision / Mission Eurasia research initiative program. Since 2018 the study is being conducted at the Lugansk National Agrarian University according to the current research topic "Civil resistance to political persecution, terrorist and ideological aggression in the ATO zone." In August 2019 scientific cooperation with the Institute of Journalism and Modern Communication, Wroclaw State University has begun.
